Kendall

Kendall is a fairly developed township and district in Miami. One of the places ravaged by Hurricane Andrews in 1992, this city has recovered remarkably over the past 25 years.
You can trace the history of Kendall to the early 1900s when this city was purchased from the State of Florida by the Florida Land and Mortgage Co. Hence, it got its name, Kendall after Henry John Broughton Kendall, the director of the Company.
The development of the area was very slow considering the fact that the area was not marked for homesteading. The town did not see its first post office until 1914 and school until 1929.

Spread over an area of 16.3 square miles, this district had a population of about 75371 as of 2010. The White Hispanic and Caucasian population comprised of an overwhelming 88%. The high numbers of Hispanic residents entail that Spanish is the principal language of this district. The per capita income of this town is $ 27,914 thereby classifying it as a fairly rich township. The male to female ratio is a bit skewed up with 83 males available for 100 females. Maybe, the males might have migrated to other towns to earn their living.
This place has a large number of Cuban residents along with people from other parts of South America such as Peru, Venezuela, and Nicaragua. You have a well-organized metrobus and Metrorail network. This district headquarters has a large number of departmental stores such as Dadeland Mall, Macy’s Nordstrom, JCPenney, and so on. You have one of the best open air shopping malls in this place as well.

Education wise, there is no problem with some of the best public, middle, and high schools in the area. One of the most notable residents of this place is O J Simpson.
